CULTURAL CONNECTIONS UPDATE

Dear Cultural Connections Members,

Thank you for being a member of the Carter Burden Network’s Cultural Connections program.  As you may know Mary Nelson recently left her position as Manager of this special program to pursue personal commitments. We are very grateful for Mary’s many contributions over the past decade, most especially for the unique community of members she cultivated who truly are the “cultural catalysts” of the Carter Burden Network. Regretfully, we have been unable to replace Mary’s position and therefore are concluding the program at this time. Our goal is to offer the program again in the future and will reach out to you with details at that time.

With respect to your annual membership fee of $25 for those who registered for 2018, we will of course refund a pro-rated portion of your fee retroactively to April 1, 2018. Alternatively, if anyone wants to donate the unused portion of their fee to the Carter Burden Network to help support the vital programs and services we offer older New Yorkers, no action is necessary and we thank you for your generosity. A tax acknowledgement letter for the donation can be provided upon request. For assistance with any of these items, please contact Kerry McDonald in our Communications Department at 917.409.1260 ext. 3 or mcdonaldk@carterburdennetwork.org.

I thank you for your membership and support of the Carter Burden Network.  If you have not already done so, I’d like to invite you to attend our Carter Burden Gallery in Chelsea.  We have exhibitions every few weeks and it’s a great way to support our Carter Burden Gallery professional artists/community and stay in touch with your Cultural Connections friends.  You may view the exhibition schedule on the Gallery website and sign up to receive email updates at http://www.carterburdengallery.org/current-exhibition or call the Gallery directly at 212.564.8405 to receive updates via regular mail.

Feel free to also participate in any Carter Burden Network program or activity; information is available on our senior center calendars or by phone 212.879.7400. Additionally, as you may know, the Theater Development Fund (TDF) offers discounted tickets for senior citizens to many cultural events in New York City.  They can be reached online at https://www.tdf.org/ or by phone 212.912.9770.

Again, many thanks for being a part of the Carter Burden Network.

Sincerely,

William J. Dionne
