Afternoon Tea at Roosevelt Island OAC

Members at our Roosevelt Island Older Adult Program got together for a proper tea party this month: teacups out, good conversation flowing, and the kind of relaxed, social afternoon that's become a favorite at the center.

September is National Senior Center Month, and the tea party was a nice way to mark it. It's a small thing on paper, an afternoon of tea, but it's exactly the kind of moment senior centers are built around. Roosevelt Island OAC isn't just a service provider, it's a place where people build friendships and look forward to seeing familiar faces. Afternoons like this one are what keep members coming back week after week.

Across the country, over 11,000 senior centers serve more than a million older adults every day, and Carter Burden Network is proud to be part of that network here in Manhattan. Celebrations like this one are a chance to say thank you to the members who make the Roosevelt Island OAC feel like a community, not just a building.

If you haven't visited our Older Adult Programs lately, this is a great time to stop by and see what's happening.
