This summer, Carter Burden Network was proud to welcome talented young people through two meaningful partnerships: the CUNY Career Launch program and the TEAK Fellowship. Both initiatives share a common thread, connecting motivated students with real-world experience, mentorship, and a deeper understanding of the communities we serve.
Carter Burden Network's OAC Center brought its own brand of star power to Red Oak Older Adult Center this month, as three groups represented Covello in the regional round of Talent Is Timeless, NYC Aging's citywide talent competition celebrating the creativity, resilience, and limitless potential of older adults.
This month, we pause to honor the memory of Velda Murad, our former Associate Executive Director, who passed away this June. Velda contributed four decades of extraordinary service to the Carter Burden Network and the older adults we serve.

On July 22nd, our Leonard Covello Older Adult Center hosted a free Bone Health Screening and community lecture in collaboration with the National Council on Aging and NYC Aging . Dr. Erlin J. Marte walked our members through osteoporosis risk, prevention, and how to talk to their doctors about bone health.
